Ambassador Abdali Virtually Met with Representative of Japan for UN Security Council Reform and Human Rights
On July 30, 2021, Ambassador Shaida Mohammad Abdali had a virtual meeting with Mr. Jun Shinmi, Representative of Japan for the United Nations Security Council Reforms and Human Rights. At the outset, they spoke about the friendly relations between Japan and Afghanistan. Then, Mr. Shinmi introduced to Ambassador Abdali Japan’s candidate for the committee against torture, Dr. Naoko Maeda, and requested the support of the Government of Afghanistan for her candidature at the election to be held in Geneva later this year.
Ambassador Abdali assured them that their request will be conveyed to the relevant departments in Kabul and will receive the most careful consideration of the Government of Afghanistan.
