Ambassador Abdali Appreciates Japan’s New Humanitarian Assistance to Afghanistan
During a High-level Ministerial Meeting on Humanitarian Situation in Afghanistan facilitated by the United Nations on September 13, 2021, the Government of Japan announced its commitment of contributing total of approximately USD 200 million this year, including new assistance of USD 65 million to more than USD 1.2 billion emergency pledges to address the dire humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
It is noteworthy that Japan has been the second largest contributor to Afghanistan in the last 2 decades, amounting to around USD 7 Milliard.
Ambassador Abdali expresses his gratefulness to the Government of Japan for its new commitment in support of the vulnerable people in Afghanistan.
